Mañana sábado 23 de febrero se cumplirá en Roma, Italia, la Asamblea General Electiva de la Federación Internacional de Roller Sports, FIRS, máxima rectora del patinaje en el mundo, y a la cual está afiliada la Federación Colombiana de Patinaje.
La reunión ecuménica tendrá
dos capítulos especiales de trabajo, pues, además de realizar la elección del
nuevo burea mundial, se realizará la reformara estatutaria que le permita al
Ente, ponerse a tono con las disposiciones mundiales, pensando en el camino que
se emprendió hacia el olimpismo.
Colombia hace presencia con su
presidente, Alberto Herrera Ayala, y su vicepresidente, Jorge Iván Roldán
Pérez, quien además asumirá sus nuevas funciones como miembro del Comité
Internacional de Carreras -CIC-. Nuestro país ha expresado abiertamente que
respaldará la aspiración de continuidad del actual presidente, el italiano
Sabatino Aracu, y la llegada del chileno Armando Quintanilla como
vicepresidente.
